Lucia's mom shares a beautiful perspective on championing possibility

Reminding us that we are tasked with exploring the gifts that God has given our children and celebrating them as they shine His light!

"Lucia, my double rainbow baby and first child, was born at home in the most beautiful, peaceful way. I hadn’t pursued any medical care during my pregnancy—no ultrasounds, no tests—so I had no idea of any diagnosis. It wasn’t until weeks after she was born that I began to notice signs, and at one month old, Lucia was officially diagnosed with Down syndrome. I was initially filled with fear and uncertainty, unsure of what her future would hold. But with faith and the support of my beautiful circle, I was reminded that her identity isn’t found in a diagnosis but in the one who created her with purpose. From that moment on, I chose faith over fear. I chose to speak life over her  and vowed never to limit her potential.

Now, just weeks from her first birthday, Lucia is vibrant, curious, smart, and incredibly strong—both physically and mentally. She’s thriving in therapy, meeting big milestones, and already standing up! The sky is the limit for our little light, Lucia, whose infectious smile brings joy to every person she encounters. She has brought a love into our lives that’s beyond words, and we are endlessly excited to watch her continue to grow, defy expectations, and fulfill every dream she sets her heart on. We will be here to encourage her every step of the way. She is the greatest blessing we never knew we needed, and we thank God every day that He gave her to us."
